Sunset Beach is public space. It is not right to grant control of the beach to any group when it restricts the right of the public to have full, unrestricted access to the beach. There isn't adequate space. How are others to enjoy frisbee or kite flying without restriction? Where is the influx of vehicle traffic to be parked? Not in the area needed for boater and leisure craft parking! Not in the neighbourhood! The old ball hockey pad will not be adequate! What about garbage pollution? What about contamination from trucked in sand? What about noise pollution? What about washroom facilities? Sunset Beach does not have the space for this activity, nor does it allow it without fettering the rest of us. Besides the lack of space, nor is it right that public space should be granted to private commercial interest. They should seek their own private real estate like any other commercial group.

This beach has always belonged to the public . Privatization will change a local heritage site including the kids carousel that has been the pride of our city & has been accessed by all the rich and the poor at symbolic 5 cents ride

Many people have great memories there and would like to continue to create wonderful memories for generations to come. Everyone should be able to enjoy the beach. It's a great opportunity for people to gather and enjoy the day ☺

This has always been a public beach and that should never be pushed for one groups private use. This is a well used beach and it should be left alone!

No, and it's not their beach. They're missing the point entirely. This isn't anti-volleyball nor is it anti child development. It's anti-monopolization of a rare asset, the public beach. We're pro volleyball. build it ANYWHERE but the beach. Look at all the land at Port Weller School, a facility NOT USED in the summertime. What an addition to a school yard; imagine 12 volleyball courts right where children are? Amazing how blind people are to want to give up over half the beach to a single use. Ridiculously short-sighted

What an entitled group to want to displace the public from the last small beach that is unspoiled in St. Catharines. No other town with such limited beach would hand this over and neither should we. They will have to truck sand in regardless so truck it somewhere else.

Sums it up pretty well doesn't it. Private money wishing to displace the public from a public beach. No we don't have to invest and no we don't have to hand a public beach over.

Love this beach, especially that it has multiple areas (picnic, playground, wooded, beach, walking paths) so there's something for everyone.

Keep beach access for everyone. The Port Dalhousie beach is already small with regards to the amount of families which visit it. Have this private group build their own facilities elsewhere please
