Really people, haven't you got something better to do. This school has around 400 kids, it is just an average size. Some primary schools have over 1,000 - Bletchley Park has 1005 and Harrisdale has 1058.

Let's get rid of the trees, use rocks and gravel to create a great nature play space for real kids.

It's time to get on with life and move on. Urban infill is here and the urban sprawl has to stop. Look for inspiration and ideas from around the world on how we make use of smaller spaces to achieve better outcomes.

Make them go somewhere else

Why should this occur in Doubleview. It should be in another neighbourhood away from us. We should not have to put up with this. We are precious people and we know we are special.

We need trees to support termite colonies and stop the extinction of these vital insects in our ecosystem.

I want the government to be accountable for their lack of honesty to our community. To regain our confidence in them they need to listen to us on this issue.

Decreasing greenspace is counterintuitive to current research about physical and mental wellbeing, not only for school students but all of the community. Once the ancient trees are gone they cannot be replaced. What kind of Doubleview community are you leaving for those that come after us?

This is so unnecessary. Doubleview have so little green space. Cramming 2 schools onto one site is against all guidelines. It will result in huge traffic problems and dangers to all kids.

I love the idea of a new upgraded school but I don't like that we lost the use of an oval or that ISWA are moving onto our area.

My son had happy memories attending Doubleview Primary. It is inconceivable that today's children would not enjoy the same facilities not to mention dog walkers and the beneficial effects of parks/trees.

I was an inaugural student at this school in 1951. The oval was funded during my stay there by the Parents & Citizens association's hard work.
How is it possible for trees to be knocked down while the State government is supposed to be in caretaker mode?

Does the local government have the forsight to realise that you cannot stuff children together in a school without a decent open space for play, excercise and mental health stability! The answer is obviously no, and cutting trees down and clearling land will only create a local eye sore! Trees are our city's natural air conditioners.

This an extremely short sighted decision that will affect thousands of kids in the years to come. The existing school site can be modernised without having to lose the oval. As it stands, the ISWA is getting more space AND sharing the remaining oval with DPS. How is this fair? The impact of a high school on site will be horrendous for traffic and the loss of green space effects the whole community forever. With so many families living on half blocks this oval is their only green area to play. The area needs another high school but relocate the ISWA somewhere else such as the closed Padbury High School.

Please do not take this space away from Doubleview, not just for the children's sake, but their children's sake.
