New London's historic downtown needs to be preserved and restored, not destroyed. The city and its residents are better served if would-be developers took pride in this history and its continuing potential, rather than were blind to it.

an intact waterfront is irreplacable

It would be a teagedy to tear down buildings that are a part of the town's history. We have several local talented restoration firms that could help refurbish these properties, which would increase thier value at this time of renaissance in New London.

This would be a monumental mistake for the city. Preserve and refurbish the old buildings. It'll be better constructed and more valuable to the town than any new development.

You cannot fake a historic main street. Don't be short sighted, New London. Do not allow this owner to tear these properties down.
