Standing for truth and informed consent! If students can give consent then they must be fully informed!

Any child or parent should be given full disclosure to the side effects and risks of any vaccine, the same as you receive with medication from pharmacy. I am a teacher and at our school we let parents know that they need to verify their children's vaccines are up to date OR they are entitled to sign a disclosure that they do not vaccinate for personal reason. Parents should be informed it is not mandatory and the risks and ingredients! Regards, Lisa

Why is he being punished? For speaking the truth of possibilities usually unkown to the average teen. This is barbaric.

RIDICULOUS!!! He's actually trying to educate students before just putting something in their bodies. Stupid nurse.

This incident was over dramatized and unessecary. Sully is a good man with strong beliefs . No one should be punished for being that.

This man should be applauded not punished. He is doing his job better than most, teaching his students to think critically and not just follow the crowd.

Good teachers are hard to find, but you'd rather harm kids than help them, then fire teachers trying to help them? What is this?

Umm. Informed consent is something we should be teaching our children about. Is the public school system no longer about actually teaching children what their rights are??? Is he the only teacher promoting FULL informational access for his students? Public schools should not be pushing agendas that are NOT about FULL RANGE EDUCATION which means ALL THE INFORMATION gets passed to the students. ALL OF IT.

Good teachers are hard to come by. Teaching independent thinking is more critical now than ever.

Timothy is on the right side of history, the way he handled the situation could of been better thought out. Its the parents duty to sign consent forms for the vaccines, however the five vaccines choices are listed on one page and they are not overly detailed. My cold and cough medicine has more information printed on the back of the bottle than that page does. I also find they gloss over the fact that some kids may have serious reactions. I think there is no reason those forms could not include a photo copy of the Vaccine inserts that is much more informative, it would be the parents choice to read it. Vaccines need to be made safer, but at the very least the people getting the shots need to be informed of the possible side effects, which can include paralysis and death. Mr. Sullivan is the kind of teacher I would like to have in my children's school. He's looking out and trying to protect kids that have given consent but are not truly informed. My kid got the Hep B shot this year but I made sure he knew the pros and cons, I also told him that if he didn't feel well on the day he was to get it to refuse the shot- then I said a prayer and crossed my fingers.

Critical thinking needs to be taught. Do your research, the risks for outweigh any alleged benefits for this vaccination. HPV is not a retrovirus, cervical Cancer is not an infectious disease and it is a travesty to not educate teenagers of the risks of injecting this vaccination into their bodies, especially due to the vulnerability of their developing brain to the adjuvuncts contained within the vaccination. There are no proper scientific studies to prove the effectiveness of this vaccination as it takes 20 years for cervical cancer to develop! Mr. Sullivan should be recognized for standing up for the health of these students! Wish there were more teachers like him.

He was just stating facts. Vaccines contain Mercury and Aluminum and aborted fetus and cow pus and do not have any safety legislations.

How can he be held accountable for informing people of what the company lists as a side effect?

I question the intent on the other end of this....for a teacher having so many students stand behind him and fight for his job can NOT be what they are making him out to be! I support the decision of the students and the freedom of information, as Sully was requested.

No teacher should be disciplined for trying to help their students make an informed decision about their health. The statements he made are factual and the medical system is not meeting the mandate of informed consent regarding vaccinations.
