Reinstate Mr Yates as Headteacher at Tottington High School

Mr Yates is what made totti and many other schools across the UK actually worth going to

He was head teacher at Heywood High School when my son was there. I remember him as being the best head teacher I had known. He could really engage with the students and was always there to help.

Don't have any affiliation with this school. However, I'd be more than happy if this was the quality of head teacher my boys got. Seems like an asset has been lost through sheer jealousy or someone trying to claw their way to the top!!!

A truly unique leader who brought about change and took the staff with him. He always encouraged all staff to develop but much more important, any students in his care are given life time chances. The best headteacher I have known.

Mr Yates was my head teacher back in 2005 onwards and he was amazing.

Bring back this wonderful teacher I don’t know him but just looking at the videos on what he has done and achieved is it amazing? How could you let him go? This is disability discrimination if you have got rid of him due to ADHD Bring back this teacher

I’ve heard and seen nothing but good things about Mr Yates and what a wonderful man he is. I know he has changed the school for the better. And he actually cares about his students unlike other schools. My daughter is joining in September going into year 11 and I would love for him to be there to help her though her last year.

From the comments and the dedicated page - a real headaches who was literally 'down with the kids'. He obviously earned respect - because he gave respect. How do you let someone go of this high calibre? Let the children dictate who they want - not a handful of adults who don't like being in the shadows of a strong leader.

So wrong to suspend him! This is what children need and he’s a loveable person! Sounds like staff are jealous of his popularity and addictive personality! Mr Yates deserves his role back he was born to be one of Tottington’s best headteachers.

One of the most inspirational and caring people you could ever hope to meet. Dave was Chairman of Rochdale Ladies Football Club for many successful years and was a constant role model to everyone involved. He’s the best headteacher I’ve ever worked for – but more than that, he’s one of the most genuinely positive and influential people I’ve ever come across. I would give anything for my own children to attend a school led by him. The education system is a much darker place without Dave Yates in it.

By far the best Head I've ever met because he genuinely cares for the children Suspending such an incredible man is a joke, get him reinstated before all the good work he has done is damaged irreparably.

This is an injustice that needs rectifying.

The trust is at fault, Dave was giving these kids a chance, yea he’s hyper motivated, passionate, ott at times but I will take that any day as he clearly loved these kids and they trusted his word when he said he’s going now where. Shame on you trust, with all these heads over the past years who don’t fit your already broken mould.

He has injected life into a desperate school. Our village need this investment into children’s future. He supports all local groups and we love the enthusiasm

Absolutely disgusting to hear such nonsense. I work in a school and would definitely work for him. The children are happy he’s a happy man Let this headteacher be himself he’s an amazing person you can clearly see his heart is in the job! Don’t know you but you’re an awesome Man! Best head teacher I’ve ever had the pleasure of working for. Outrageous that this has happened to a genuinely nice soul who actually cares for the students ABOVE & BEYOND

Mr. Yates was my headteacher a HCHS and that man made me who I am today. Regardless of people's thoughts on how he leads a school, he is the most caring and supportive head teacher you could ask for.
