Why are we having to go through this again? It's even more threatening now that Mr. Beruff has been appointed to so many state positions by Gov. Scott. Does this mean that this individual now has more power behind him than before when his requests finally were rejected after tormenting the county and the will of it's residents for so long? This seems to be the state trying to replace local government (which is another bill at the state right now that appears will be pushed through).
Builders have a right to make money as do all businessmen, but not at the expense of the residents and tourists desire to protect the environment; the primary reason they live and visit here.

Why let Aqua by the Bay ruin the area and:
Violate a multitude of local wetland protection laws.
Devastate the mangroves and their ecological function.
Endanger the healthiest seagrass, best shorebird habitat and finest fishing ground on the Bay.
Destroy the character of this peaceful Old Florida coastline.

Once it's gone, it will never be back. It took the mangroves centuries to grow. What's more needed natural sites like mangroves or short-lived 2,900 houses?

Wetlands and costal ecosystems provide essential ecosystem services and habitat to many economically vital species. Help us protect the remaining land we have from becoming another "luxury" condominium or parking lot.

Time for Manatee Co. to begin protecting the fragile environment and not bowing to the greedy developers.

Commissioners, Please listen to your constituents who elected you and save our pristine bay. We have been very vocal already in our opposition of every aspect of this project. It's bad enough every inch of land is being destroyed by developers. Leave the bay alone. We voters are paying attention and will remember at the polls.

Aha! Now it comes out! So much more behind that wonderful "mitigation bank" and "conservation easement" A huge lagoon 2.5 miles long-dozens of docks-trim a mile of mangrove forest down below 6 feet-or maybe even 3 feet! Better have the meeting at the Manatee Convention Center again! Either the people win-or greed wins!
