Come on, Cloverland Director and members...you gained a lot when you bought Edison Soo; not only did you gain a significant, local, and renewable source of energy, but by raising rates for Sault residents, you were able to move towards your goal of lowering rates for rural residents. Sault residents joined your community; help us develop ours. Development nurtures growth, and that growth benefits all Cloverland members.

Beautifying the power canal is a positive move for Sault Ste. Marie and it's many tourists. Please contribute the $200,000 which was your first decision--and the right one.

The whole point is to attract tourists and encourage locals to enjoy our beautiful waterline. That cannot be accomplished with an ugly barbed wire fence.

Also, as a former resident of Sault Ste. Marie, I always felt that there was not enough easily accessible places to walk with my young children. This beautiful upgrade would make this a much more sought after walking trail.

I’m sorry for the delay in our response, we are having technical difficulty. The goal is to get Cloverland Electric to increase the amount of money that they are spending on the fence. The current amount approved will only cover a chain-link fence with barbwire on top. We are asking them to increase the funds and put in a nicer fence in our historic downtown.

The prettier fence will be so much better for all involved. It certainly will add class to this worthwhile project!

Let’s make SSM pretty and a nice tourist town again! Time to take some initiative! Take some lessons from Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, St. Ignace, and Marquette!

We are in total support of this effort and have donated via patronicity. The article in the paper was a tad confusing and I am confused about what the above "goal" is for

We already have ornamental fence along the north side of the canal at for the small park by the Ashmun Street bridge. Time to make the canal look decent and improve its appearance - wish the whole canal had quality fencing without barbed wire.
