We, the parents, guardians and community members of Sartorette
Elementary School, respectfully request the Board of Trustee of Cambrian
School District to REMOVE Sartorette property as a viable option for
redevelopment to raise revenue.
From the analysis done by
Terra Realty*, Sartorette track is one of 4 possible real estate properties that
might be considered for sale/lease to developers to generate revenue for
the district.
We ask the Board the following:
1. We ask the Board to REMOVE Sartorette off this list NOW before any further discussion begins.
2. We ask the Board to fully investigate and exhaust the other 3 non-operating school properties identified by Terra Realty as viable opportunities to raise revenue. No operating school which the Board serves should be considered to be sold or leased, partially or fully.
3. We ask the Board to fully investigate and exhaust other opportunities outside of these suggested real estate properties to generate revenue. For example, offer before/after-school care. This is a much needed service to working families currently attending Cambrian schools, while generating money for the district.
4. We ask the Board to thoughtfully seek to ADD value rather than take away value to their constituents - the students who attend Cambrian schools.

I attended Sartorette all through grammar school, then Price, then Camden. My children attended Sartorette as well. Always know to be the best in the district. Other schools sold too, campbell high, Stein ford, Camden, House... and for what!? Those were all regretted down the line. Don’t sell Sartorette!
Don't sell off or lease any part of the track and Garden! Adding residences adds vehicles, which will add to potential accidents and risk the children that walk and ride to our school.
Selling/leasing a part of a operating school to a contractor creates huge liability. Children come first. We need before/after school care on site. Please remove our school from selling/leasing option.
The track should stay at Sartorette. It is used daily as part of the school program. this would leave Sartorette as the only school in the district without a track. As far as moving the DO, wasn't it recently renovated?
Taking a vital part of Sartorette away would heavily impact the kids and teachers not to mention the community that uses the track on weekends. Terra Realty (and the Board) should exhaust all other options before even considering touching any student based property.
Don't sell. We need more schools, not less.

Selling valuable educational assets to developers for financial gain does NOT benefit the students. DO NOT SELL THE SCHOOL. In the future, when population increases, we will have no options and the District will be forced to purchase or lease properties at a much higher cost.
