We didn't define the definition of marriage initially. We are not in a position of authority to change a God designed institution.

Texas voters have already spoken. SCOTUS isn't the last word on what's constitutional.

Our law in Texas says that marriage is between "one" man & "one" woman. The SCOTUS cannot make laws!

Please honor the Doctrine of Lessor Magistrates... Marriage should b e between ONE man and ONE woman. If homosexuals want the privileges of marriage then it needs to be called a Civil Agreement. Not a Marriage. WHY are we bending our Morals Views and Laws to protect 1% of the population?? With CURRENT laws the homosexuals have the same rights as married couples anyway IF they do what they need to do (like get a Living Will - to protect them in a hospital situation).

This is among the best worded, and most important petitions that I have seen, and gladly signed. I implore all of Texas government to duly consider, heed, and act on the words of this petition.

Texas leadership must interpose on the basis of the Texas Constitution and Texas statutes pertaining to the issue of marriage, clearly under the jurisdiction of the states (NOT federal courts).
