It has recently come to the attention of the students of Lincoln East high school that the newly imposed staircase regulations adversely affect their scholastic experience. Students note that the new regulation did not accomplish its intended goal, and instead has led to a less efficient and more cumbersome condition. Issues that have arisen include that staircases are now more congested and confusing, it is more difficult to access lockers in passing periods due to the excess time wasted by the new routes, and students have a higher likelihood of being tardy to their classes. Thus, a petition was called to action to change the staircase regulation to make all staircase to become both “up” and “down.”
