SSJ changed the First Communion format this year to occur during regularly-scheduled masses over a 6 week period for small groups of children. In past years, families were given the option of 2 designated Saturdays in May during which SSJ First Communicants received the sacrament during a private mass. This was a much more intimate setting for the First Communicants, their God Parents, families and friends, to witness the children receiving this sacrament for the first time, together, as a large group. Let's appeal to SSJ to return the holy sacrament of First Communion to the previous format, which offers more intimate and special Saturday ceremonies for the First Communicants. Thank you.
