How can this development even be considered there is no way the current highway could manage an additional 400+ vehicle movements a day. Whilst we would all love to see the house restored - to what cost and what benefit to us?

I was under the impression the developer was restoring the house in return for permission to build a SMALL development to make it financially viable NOT give him the opportunity to double size of existing village and make millions!!

Keen to see the restoration of such an iconic building but this is not the way...
This is simply a Trojan a horse... Unnecessary development and blatant profiteering, desguided as a deserving conservation project.

220 houses will put too much strain on infrastructure and increase traffic, one of many concern is over proposed access.

This development was never part of the initial proposals to renovate Overstone Hall. It seems the only benefit will be to Barry Howard Homes, who will profit from this proposed development and the eventual sale of Overstone Hall once renovations are complette. This will put tremendous strain on local infrastructure and change the landscape, history and essence of Overstone Village. This development must not be permitted.

Do not agree with the houses in the green fields on the farm as this should be protected parkland . The houses up in the immediate grounds should be enough to provide funds to rebuild the hall especially as he will then have assets to dispose of in addition . With all the additional moulton houses there also isn't a need for so many new houses .

Bordering on madness to even think about building 220 houses on such a special landscape. Not nimbyism either as thousands of houses to be built over the road in Overstone Leys.

As a parent with a child at Overstone primary school I am extremely concerned about the impact this will have on traffic in the local area.

This is not a solution; the extra traffic created by this, through a small village and opposite a school as well where the parking already causes major problems twice a day would be horrendous . Not to mention that this a rural village and that is why we all live here; if I had wanted to live in one big housing estate I would have moved to one. The Manor House is an important part of the villages but if this development were to go ahead it would be a disaster to the whole community so I feel that most people would sooner it remained a ruin.

To suggest that 220 houses plus whatever apartments get created in the old house should have access to and from their properties only by church lane is crazy. This junction and the adjoining Sywell Road are already very busy and dangerous and adding to that so close to the school would be irresponsible. It would be gridlock every day. On top of that, the loss of more beautiful countryside is very sad.
