Petition to Rough & Ready Lumber To Modify Clearcut

Save our watershed..

No more clear cutting! Just grow hemp! It sequesters 10x the carbon!

As your neighbor Walter Lindley has so clearly and respectfully requested, I strongly urge you to implement a selective cut on this parcel. I strongly urge you to reduce or eliminate herbicide use on this project. Consider that improved community relations will make your projects go more smoothly. Thank you in advance for being a good neighbor.

Please modify your methods to selective harvesting of these forests.

Please do not clear cut this area or use pesticides in our watershed; we all share the water. We are very hopeful that you will listen to our community, harvest trees in a way that is sustainable and provide for a diverse forest. Yes, this gives less profit, but we all have responsibilities for the many plant and animal species living here, for the water and for the generations to come.

Do the right thing for the environment.

Selective logging will build healthier forests that protect the resources that your industry depends on. Please be stewards of the land you are working. It’s a win/win kinda thing. Healthier forests = more, better logs. You’re lucky I’m not charging for this kind of advice. You’re welcome.

I wholeheartedly agree with all of the points made in Walter Lindlet'a letter. On behalf of the children in this community, I urge you to change your ways and choose to instead start working sustainably; selectively cut, provide more jobs, avoid toxins in our waterways and start preparing for the future.

When you poison your own watershed, the toxins do not obey your property lines. This chop and squirt way of logging must stop for the health of our ecosystems and the future generations. Select thinning is sane and it provides more jobs! Be responsible.
