Please listen to the people of your County. We have owned guns and firearms since the beginning of Rockingham County and the beginning of the State of Virginia. To remove firearms from every citizen is not an answer to the shootings plaguing our Country. The citizens that are of sound mind have a right to bear arms by the Constitution. To take this away, will bring greater hardship to the problem. Country and Mountain folk along with Valley dwellers WILL not tolerate this right being removed. There has to be a better way to research background checks and the screening of purchasing a gun become a longer process to reveal the mental wellness of the purchaser. It is a Hippa problem NOT a gun problem. Work with your people not against. Felons are not allowed to oqn a gun. You do not place your hard working fellow tax payer in felon status just because he owns a gun. The entire Country will be in an uproar and anorher Civil War will begin if you fight your cirtizens by government overtake.....All it takes is one small problem to grow to a statewide, then nationwide issue. Do not put Virginia in this heinous Democratic/Republican fiasco. We need ways to straighten up BOTH parties and this heinous divide that has been festering way to long. Not Civil War 2 as an outcome for the House and Senate becoming Democratic.

Elected officals took an oath to uphold the Constitution. Maybe the need to read and obey what they swore to do. If not, then they must go!!!

Will any Virginian be OK with a law that would require a permit in order to organize a gathering at one’s home? And all who attend become class 6 felons if a permit was not obtained? Would any Virginian be OK with a requirement that one must register with the state as an attendee of a church? And to be found in a church without having registered would make one a class 6 felon? How many Virginians will be OK with a law that requires us to allow a law enforcement officer to search our possessions upon request at any time? Will we be OK with a law that requires media to obtain permission from the state prior to printing any story? And will we be OK with a law being passed that requires a person who wishes to speak in a public place to obtain a permit before hand or be arrested and jailed as a class 6 felon without due process?

The 2A is an affirmation of the rights for We the People AND a restriction on GOVERNMENT. It is very clear and usually presented incompletely. Please remind those in favor and against of this FACT.
