Rory was a brilliant, phenomenal musician. One of the greatest guitarists who ever lived. Also a humble and modest man. No one could be more deserving of this recognition.

Rory was one of the greatest of his generation - as a musician, artist, and as a naturally humble man despite his prodigious talent. His memory needs to live on, and naming the airport of the city of his youth after him would be a wonderful living memorial.

I first heard Rory after finding a cassette tape in a snow bank in Chicago around 1990. It was a life changing moment.

When I first heard about this campaign to rename the airport, I thought to myself, "What a perfect idea!" It's been at least two or three years since I heard about it, and NOW, I'm thinking to myself, "What's the hold up, why hasn't it happened yet?" I honestly can't imagine anybody in their right mind being opposed to the idea, nor can I think of anyone more deserving of the honor. As far as I’m concerned, when it comes to Rock & Roll, Rory Gallagher put Ireland on the map, and he did it with plenty of class! It is my privilege to sign this petition. Come on everybody, lets get this done once and for all!
