Rory was and is a true Corkonian icon. Renaming the airport would be a fantastic tribute, much like the honour given by Belfast city council to George Best.

This petition is not only an honor to the great musician, but also a voice that says that art, not politics, touches and unites the world. I wish all airports renamed for different artists.

Liverpool named their airport after a favourite son, so it would be fitting for Cork to do the same.
