True Conservatives think about how the Federal Government has been dictating to people - who they're allowed to love, and who they're allowed to legally call 'family.' Alan Aker is a boob.

I am a married woman and a registered voter. I support rational government and this is not rational.

Sorry, I think he is free to express his views but only if those views do not reflect a terribly moronic version of equality that will undoubtedly effect his political decision making.

Personal religious beliefs have NO place in our government. If hating others and refusing them basic human Rights and dignity is being a good christian than I guess you didn't read the whole book now did you? Your faith is yours and I respect that. Help the homeless, feed starving children, volunteer at hospitals etc., but denying others the same rights as you because they happen to be LGBT is disgraceful to the God you hold so dear. Do you think that you as a hateful bigot who went to church and prayed will have the red carpet rolled out, but the gay couple next door whose only "sin" was falling in love with the "wrong" gender will burn in hell. At least you can find another bigoted business that will welcome you and you will no longer be a "voice" of the people!!!!!

Your personal religious beliefs are your own, and that is acceptable. But you are an elected official and you have disgraced your office with the hateful, ignorant, closed-minded comments you made all over social media. Shame on you, enjoy the unemployment line!

This gentleman is obviously in the wrong profession as there is no room for prejudice in government. Separation of church and state was created for a reason--people of different religions have different views, therefore laws with religious influence cannot honestly be equal for all. People should learn to live and let live. It doesn't kill you, your dog, or your lawn. Get over it.

The utter arrogance this man has shown neither apologizing nor admitting that he was wrong to use his position as Meade County Commissioner is deplorable!

His comments were biased, unsupporting of people not only people in his county, but others in South Dakota. While he can have his own opinion, the way he handled it was unprofessional, especially for the position he chose to hold.

Not to mention he uses his full title on his facebook page, and has posted several other offensive comments giving Meade County a bad name.

I also believe his push for the road to the Buffalo Chip campground needs to be investigated. Something about that whole situation stinks. His apparent dislike for the City of Sturgis, seems to be escalating. His push to get the City to pay for paving roads that are responsibility of Meade County, all seems to be pretty fishy.

Rights in the Constitution are protected but you don't have the right to infringe on another person's rights. The register of deeds has an obligation to not infringe on a gay couples' right to marry. And this man has free speech and can say what he wants. However, he was speaking on the behalf of the county and the county has no right to deny citizens of their rights.

I support EVERY person's freedom of speech and expression. I don't support public officials making moral judgments against their constituents using their official title on social media.

Unacceptable from an elected government official. He is free to post this on his personal facebook site, but doing this as a government employee is so wrong. He needs to be held accountable for this inappropriate action!
