This year has been terrible when it comes to the calls referees have been making in the nhl this year, its almost like they pick a team and hammer them with horrible calls.Something needs to be done with the referees the new replay rules are pretty much useless as well. I'm making this petition because I want the NHL to know that we notice this. They are ruining an awesome sport it almost seems fixed.

Most egrarious are the calls ( or noncalls as the case may be) for bad hits into the boards and head shots. The DOPS stance on disciplining players based upon whether or not the play caused significant injury is just not working. Get serious about enforcing the rules NHL!
Tired of the refs determining the outcome of the games and players getting severely injured cause there are no consequences for some teams

Completely agree. It's apparent that some refs allow their personal feelings to affect their professional judgement. Dangerous hits are becoming so common place that you can see them in almost every game. I believe a paralysis is very likely to inevitable with the level of respect players have for one another. I have watched hockey for almost 30 years, and enjoy boxing and mixed martial arts. So i'm not squeamish about violence, but what happens in the NHL is not the same as those sports. The NHL has thrown away a code of honor system in favor of reffing that allows bullying and deliberate intent to injure. Disgusting!
Completely agree. Theres also a lot of non-calls on players with more frantic playing styles. Zach Parise gets malled every game and no one ever calls anything on him because of his style of play. Also, many US teams have refs that are biased towards the home team. Often in Canada and places where hockey is more religion than sport, games are called pretty even with little to no bias.
Incredibly inconsistent. You'll see calls for the same thing in one game not get called in another game. They need to do something about it.

What is the point in having video review if you get it wrong most of the time? By having the on ice officials make the decisions on a review you are allowing their human-ness (ego) to come into play. Do something about getting cameras in place both on the blue lines and for goal reviews to take the onus off the refs
