Redbrook: traffic impact on our neighborhood

In order to keep the youngsters of the neighborhood safe it is imperative Red Maple Lane be closed. Additionally, the premise of buying a home on a closed loop street was the basis on which people, including us, purchased homes on Inkberry.

As previously stated we were always told the Inkberry neighborhood was a closed loop and that area was going to be a nature trail. I specifically asked about that area and it was represented in all the literature I received as a trail not a road. I will bring this paperwork to the meeting.

We were told and sold a closed loop neighborhood for Inkberry. Red Maple should be closed and shut off to any car traffic...

The increased through traffic is my biggest concern - having small children. The residents of Inkberry all drive with courtesy and respect for the safety of kids and walkers/bikers, but adding the vehicles from these new neighborhoods will change the flow we're used to. I'm also concerned about the steepness of Red Maple Dr - it's hard enough to walk down it when its covered by compacted snow - imagine cars trying to stop when its covered by ice. Seems a safer and less impactful alternative to pave the current construction access road for use by Southview/White Clover.

With young kids we are already concerned about the construction traffic issues. Our concern would be the traffic flow long term in the community.

This was clearly marked as a nature trail on all of my sales material. Agree a secondary outlet somewhere on the main rd makes sense.

Promises from sales team and developers must be kept. That is the definition of integrity.

In the past, we have all witnessed Makepeace plans that have been altered/accelerated to suit their profits, even at the expense of sacrificing green space and trails. With Makepeace's decision to scrap the planned access roads, we are being short-changed once again. Let's remember that Makepeace is responsible for putting our community in the position of fighting this and choosing between less-than-ideal choices. The more united the community is on this issue, the more likely we are to have adjustments made that we can all support. We plan to sign the petition...

Concerned about thru traffic without another exit- especially since the road was not something we were aware of when we purchased lots here. Losing the closed loop neighborhood is an issue.

We support any design that keeps the Inkberry neighborhood the low traffic volume, family centered, peaceful place we were promised when we decided to make this our retirement home.

This connecting road was described throughout the sales cycle as a nature trail, to be closed to passenger vehicles. That description was consistent with sales maps & master plans shown to us. As late as our pre-close walkthrough, C.Valle told us no future plans were known about it's development. We understand this is now a paved passenger vehicle road. We remain concerned about cut-through traffic into our neighborhood due to lack of a 2ndary outlet for new neighborhoods to access the YMCA, Village Green, and Wareham Rd West. We hope Makepeace will consider traffic flows and neighborhood layout, in finding a solution that works for everyone. We all invested in this neighborhood and all call Redbrook our home.

I was quiet last year when the “walking path” turned out to be a road. I will not be quiet this time! The “construction road” can be made into a real road. There are no homes along it.

As a couple planning on having children in the next few years, we moved here with the understanding that our neighborhood would remain a street with limited traffic and we are hoping it stays that way!

Absolutely not going to happen! When I moved in, one year ago Saturday, I had been told that “road” was s nature trail. As it turns out, it is not. NO WAY, is that “road” going to turn into a major thoroughfare!

During the sales cycles we were sold certain neighborhood ammenities, trails, limited traffic, and neighborhood designs. This was critical in our choice of Redbrook. We have small children and care about the safety of those who live in the neighborhood. This is not acceptable and expect the developer to stand by their sales commitments, marketing materials, and support those who invested early in their development plans.

Makepeace needs to stick with the original plans that had this as a walking trail, as was promised to us when we first selected our lot.

Makepeace should "make good" on their original plans and promises to those of us who bought into our neighborhood as a "closed loop" neighborhood. We are not willing to put up with cut-through traffic!

When we selected our lot it was based on being told that this would be a walking trail and not an actual Road.

We support every effort to maintain the original road & access plans which were a major part of our decision to purchase our property and building site on Inkberry Lane. Please don't disappoint us with a decision to alter the original plan. Thank you, Art and Phyllis S.
