5 of my children went to Byrnes highschool. Several of them scholars, and athletic participants. I am a proud parent of Byrnes Rebels! The voice of one should not override the sentiment of the majority, especially since it has absolutely nothing to do with race! Keep the Rebels' name!!!

Once a rebel always a rebel. Leave the name, the rebels are known for so many amazing reasons such as football, softball, band, and ROTC. Let it be!

I have not always been a Rebel, in fact I was a Brave, in the 12 years of being here, we have seen first hand the unity in this comUNITY! To change the name would only cause upheaval, and unnecessary stress on our children, who do not see race, hatred, division. To do so, would cause all of this. In fact the gentlemen who is questioning this, was indeed Mr. Rebel. To which at one point wore his badge of honor proudly, we only create hate in our hearts. I pray we leave this name, The Rebels, a people who stands up for their own personal options despite what any one else says.... That's our comUnity!!

I feel we should keep the name as it is. The definition of the word has nothing to do with hate or discrimination.

I think this "Rebel" thing is going a little to far. I think the NAACP needs to focus on other "important" things in life that matter. Come on...give it a rest already!
