When we transferred to Spartanburg from NC we looked at all the school's in the area. We chose district 5 for the outstanding academics, mixed ethnicities, sports opportunities and test numbers. Never once did the "Rebels" name have us feeling the school was racist. This is just ridiculous. Go REBELS!

I'm a part of the rebel regiment in byrnes. And I believe that changing the name would change everything that is a part of that band. I love and enjoy every part of that band and I would not want to change the rebel regiments name at all.

Rebels - We can Re-bel against every team - modify, adapt, overcome - and leave this school alone....it has had unity and brotherhood success bc of its leadership.....the school.and it's alumni or students aren't crying for help. It is the ignorance of assumption. Modify - adapt overcome

Byrnes is my alumni, best there is. The name Rebels is what made us. Please don't take that away.
