The NAACP needs to get a grip and stop thinking the worst about everything! The Rebel name is just that, a name. They need to stop trying to stir up unwarranted trouble.

I am a 1990 alumni rebel. I strongly believe that the name should not be changed. Rebel 4 life. Rebel nation 4 ever.

Did not graduate from Byrnes but wife and children did so I have attended ball games and band competitions for over 36 years. Rebel Teams and Rebel Regiment stay that way!!!

My brothers and friends are Rebels they've graduated or currently enrolled to byrnes but that doesn't mean people have to change something they feel is "racist" or mean something it's not. All of this confederate flag stuff is over exaggerated crap. It's leaking to petty things like the name of a school and it's program.

I strongly oppose!! We moved to this district because of the pride of the school with the community. The live of our Rebels and these fine young men and women that dedicate and respect the school and all sports is by far the reason we stay!! God bless the school and facilty. once a Rebel always a Rebel family!!

This is ridiculous! I live in Greenville county but know that Byrnes is legendary for their football. Keep the rebels as the mascot.
