Graduated from "old" Dorman, but live in District 5, let's keep our Rebels safe! Proud to say I now live in Byrnes Rebels land!

I oppose the renaming of James F Byrnes High School. Our school name had nothing to do with the u fortunate shooting of the 9 individuals in Charleston. This had nothing to BDO with the name of our school or the Confederate Flag.

You do not know the trickling damage this will cause because of your actions sir. What is a word? "It's anything you make it!" There are so many people in need and you chose to use your time and name on something like this..Shame on you.

This is stupid. It's a school, there is no reason to change it. Why does everyone have to say everything is racist when they do not understand. Also the rebel flag as nothing to do with being racist or not being racist it has to do with our Southern pride and our freedom to do what we want as long as it does not get in the way of the freedom of others.

I am apart of the Class of 2015 & I would hate to see the classes behind me, have to change their names. Byrnes High School has NOTHING to do with the rebel flag so theres no reason to take our name! ONCE A REBEL, ALWAYS A REBEL!!!! <3

I support anything, within reason, that holds The Rebel name on it....back in the early 90's they got the flag and mascot changed because of racism... But now we are a dang sword....with the name Rebel with it....what can be racist about that???....I'm up for a fight anyday!!!

I'm a Greer High graduate from the era when Brynes was our biggest rival. Never once was their name offensive to me. This is just one more bad apple trying to spoil the whole bunch. Please leave them alone.
