As many of you know the popular gaming company Riot has released the game League of Legends in May 2010. Since then the game has flourished as the meta evolved an the game became more popular in regions other than North America. Today more than 12 million people log onto their computers to play League of Legends everyday and the numbers have been steadily increasing. With the rise of League of Legends and others popular titles such as MapleStory, and Goat Simulator, the E-Sports community has evolved into a much larger assortment of people from almost everywhere around the world. This growth in the E-Sports community bring us to the problem that has currently plagued League of Legends players everywhere. When Riot devised their 'Ranked' system, where players would be ranked by skill, they left one fatal flaw in their system: League Points. There have been countless complaints about these 'League Points' and the numbers aren't slowing down. My proposed solution to this flaw is to simply change the name of 'League Points' to 'Ranked Points'. This clarifies any confusion about the system and solidifies Riot's hold on the growing player base. To conclude, 'League Points' is a simply challenging and unnecessary name that confuses many players, especially those from other regions. Change to Ranked Points, save a life.
