Re-evaluate what it can be used for. It's a perfectly good building that could be at the very least repurposed if not preserved as a historical site.

The thought of Ridgeway Public school being demolished is heart wrenching ... Please rethink the idea...why don't we keep ridgeway high school and move the elementary school there?

This school is a not only a big part of our beautiful towns history, but many of the families that live here history as well. Its a place we grew up with and somewhere we wish our kids to enjoy as well. This building is one of the few buildings that stands as a recognizable feature. To take it away would be a huge and unfortunate mistake.

The few historical buildings of significance in Ridgeway should definitely be preserved as should the green space that surrounds it.

This happened in Kitchener and the clock town was placed in the park. What a shame it was. I live in Cambridge and because of our heritage buildings, we are the place that Hollywood comes to visit to film movies. Do NOT destroy this building. Call Carl Zehr, prior Mayor of Kitchener and Doug Craig current mayor of Cambridge. Please do not destroy your heritage... Signed, a heritage appreciator and community cheerleader...

I was visiting a friend lately in Ridgeway and enjoyed your little town very much. It reminded me of Cambridge, where I live . We are very well know for our heritage buildings. Hollywood comes a calling because of our buildings. I recommend that your chair reaches out to Doug Craig our Mayor for some advice. Take a look at some of our beautiful heritage buildings on the City of Cambridge site. http://www.cambridge.ca/gallery-internal.php?gid=2
Also I worked with the Greater KW Chamber of Commerce on several committees. It was a shame to see the old city hall be destroyed and the clock tower from the old city hall be destroyed and taken to the park, their Heritage buildings should have never been taken down. You could reach out to Todd Letts, prior GM of the Greater KW Chamber of Commerce from the 1990s, he is on LinkedIn. I can provide many contacts for research on the topic if you wish. The prior Mayor of Kitchener, Carl Zehr could also comment as he came into being the Mayor of Kitchener when I was doing the Marketing for downtown.
Please do your homework and save your heritage buildings. Heritage is very important.
Another example would be Italy... Tourists are drawn to Italy because of their beautiful buildings.

This mayor and council are not responsible, it was the previous Martin administration that allowed this to happen. Mayor Redekop has been working towards opening up debate again (including a possible public meeting to be held soon). Contact your F.E. councillor and demand that they Designate the school a heritage building.
