This seems to be a rushed decision with no sufficient data to support needing to transfer RCMMS students to East Cary. The RCMMS community is solid and has built their strength as a unit working together for several years. To yank that strength away, truly pulling the pull out from under them, is going to substantially hurt the "new" RCMMS community, and unnecessarily. Students are not just a number that can be shifted around without thoughts to the emotional consequences of such actions. There is much more to deal with than is being let on. Truly there must be other ways to boost enrollment at East Cary-those folks don't seem to want the change either.

Not fair that Sixth graders will have to again transition to a new school after just adjusting to middle school

My son will not be affected by this reassignment as he moves to high school next year. I really hope my daughter will be able to follow my son to RCMMS in a few years.

With an 8th grader, 7th grader & a rising 6th - we feel very strongly about the RCMMS community that we’ve helped create. We love the positive connections with teachers, staff, & friends that we have made & continue to cultivate. WE DO NOT WANT THAT TAKEN AWAY FROM US!

RCMMS had nearly half of its students qualifying for free and reduced lunch in 2017-2018 according to WCPSS data. How many of those parents can drive their kids if transportation is not provided? How many of those families are not even aware of the proposed reassignment since notification has been via e-mail that wasn't even consistently delivered? Those same families cannot comment if they do not have access to a computer, since WCPSS forms on their websties (Let's Talk & Envision Wake) do not fully work on smart phones including iPhones. WCPSS, how many free and reduced lunch students are part of the proposed reassignment group? Families who do not have home access to computers or the ability to easily transport their children will be disproportionately affected by the proposed change. How many total students are proposed to be moved?

As a 7th grader, my son will be re-assigned to ECMS with the current proposal. Please reconsider the disruption to RCMMS families!

My son will be grandfathered in, but I’m a single mother that can’t afford private transportation. Reedy Creek is finally home after moving here from Wilmington

Rcmms is a community school that deserves to be considered as such and should not just be an aside to decisions on ecms.

As a current carpool parent in the morning enroute to work in Durham, I can attest to traffic issues currently affecting Ready Creek road and Harrison avenue already.

This is a major change too soon in our magnet process! It’s time for families and staff to be settled for awhile!!
