Petition to the Government of New Brunswick to stop QIFS cuts to New Brunswick Daycares

Is this really where the budget needs to be cut?

I propose for Minister Roussell to stop QIFS cuts to licensed/ regulated New Brunswick quality childcare centres and go after the unregulated/unlicensed home business that do not contribute to the economy and licensed/regulated childcare centres do.

It is sad that our government once again takes money from the ones who will be hurt the most the children, why don't the rich politicians, give a cut of their salary?

Fewer daycares mean problems with getting a space. Without it one of us would need to stay home or we will need to seek residence in other provinces.

With daycare costs being already so high they force some parents to stay at home to care for the little ones, this decision is absolutely outrageous. It is a known fact that kids attending daycare are better prepared for school and social interactions. How can the government justify cuts to the kids development and child education? Please continue the dialogue, we should be investing more in our future, not hurt it! Sincerely, A very concerned parent.

I strongly urge the government to re-think this decision. I don't see how this is supposed to help the province when its affecting the livelihood of so many people and eve putting the future of our children at stake.

Do you know how are it is for Mothers to balance work and Daycare. Let alone find daycare in this province. I have one child and a second due in less than a week. My first year back to work was less than fun due to Daycare problems. To cut more money from Daycare's will only make it harder for Mothers to find good Daycare for their children. But having piece of mind that they are in good care while your at work

In order to survive and pay "basic living costs" for a family of 4, both parents have to make $18.50/hr. This only takes in the cost of basic every day living. This does NOT account for debt repayment or saving for education etc. (see http://globalnews.ca/news/1931914/parents-must-both-make-18-52-per-hour-to-afford-life-in-toronto-report/ ) When asked, 50% of parents agree that the most expensive part of raising children is childcare. Kindergarten teachers will tell you, that they can tell the difference between kids who were attended a daycare and kids who did not. These cuts will increase the cost of child care accross the board, and impact future generations. In a "have not province" you would think that our government would want to do what ever they can to help provide the best education possible for our children, to get them ahead. Why are we screwing over our future generations? The very generation that we will expect to look after us when we are seniors?

rediculous they have cut school funding for programs and now daycare. Then you wonder why the kids today get into trouble!!

svp reconsidérer cette pétition car s'il faut que les primes de garderie augmente du a cette decision vous ne punissez que les mamans qui travaille en dehors de la maison car ceux la a faible revenu en subiront pas rien encore!!! pas trop encourageant daller travailler pour peut etre faire environs 30$/jours un coup les impots ect et garderie payer... ont est aussi gagnant de rester a la maison et d'aller chercher le surplus par mois de cheque denfants et de TPS sa va nous donner plus que aller travailler!!!!

I have my cours and have been a childcare educator since 1999, I think this is the worst decision they could ever make. I don't understand the logics of this whole ordeal... If the owner/operator from my daycare goes to work at an other daycare she would earn the QIF earning but because she has worked her butt off to open her own daycare and puts all her time and devotion at what she does best (care for all the other kids if our community) she get nothing at all.... We need to get these priorities straight, these children will someday be taking care of us, we need to give them nothing but the best growing up!!!

You're Taking away from quality care!

There are so many things wrong with this. The people that work at daycares making minimum wage? That's ridiculous they're doing the hardest job in the world. They're you're child's temporary parents! And taking away help for parents that make a lower income? Soon they won't have an income because they can't afford to send their kids to daycare. And the welfare begins. Everyone please sign this.

The working parents needs places to bring their children and the workers need good income because it's hard work. I've worked in a daycare before, the children depend on you, please look at this seriously.

Childcare was expensive before......we definetly do not need for it to be higher, I mean c'Mon already.....give us a break! You wanna take money from somewhere??? How about putting Anglophone and francophones on the same bus instead of forking out all that money on two buses??
