Little League baseball should be a safe place for children to learn hard work, baseball skills, and most importantly good sportsmanship.

Unfortunately, North East Santa Ana Little League has continued to permit Albert Perez to coach despite a history of inappropriate and violent behavior.

Two years ago, during the fall season, our seven-year-old son played on a team Mr. Perez coached with his fiance, Aurora Nunez (a NESALL Board Member). The coaches umpired the games at this instructional level. Without exception, Albert verbally argued, taunted, challenged, and cursed the opposing coaches. This culminated with Albert physically fighting the opposing coach in the second inning of the last game of the season, causing the parents to remove their children from the field and forfeit the game. It bears repeating this was a game for 6 and 7-year old children!

Because of this we decided to hold our children out of the League the next spring season. Only after discussing this situation with the League President, Vice President, and District 30 Administrator about this situation; did we consent for our three boys to play in the fall season 2014 and we would not have allowed our son to play at all on Mr. Perez's team. Every official assured us that this behavior would result in immediate expulsion should it reoccur.

Unfortunately, this situation has continued to persist.

Tonight (April 14, 2015), during a game between two teams of 9 and 10-year old children, Albert ran out of his dugout and physically attacked the opposing coach on the field--causing the game to be stopped. Several players were in tears and terrified by what they saw on the field.

Little League has strict standards for volunteers and coaches:

Mr. Perez has demonstrated for years that he is unable and unwilling to uphold these standards.

We have already discussed this with the League President and District 30 Administrator and are asking fellow parents to unite in protecting the children of North East Santa Ana Little League by demanding the League permanently expel Albert Perez from the League and the League facilities.

We have three sons who are playing baseball in this League and we are unwilling to continue allowing them to participate until the League acts to protect all of the League's children.
