Policies like this put providers between a rock and a hard place with regard to viable options for our patients. Safe and effective therapies supported by a wealth of research are inappropriately deemed investigational, placing us in the unenviable position of being forced to offer less-proven and, in the case of chronic opiate therapy, potentially harmful treatment alternatives.

PNS is a much needed non pharmacological and minimally invasive option for patients with intractable chronic pain. Without this option, patient care and outcomes may be negatively impacted. Please reconsider denying coverage for PNS treatment.

This is an invaluable more definitive non steroidal treatment for pain to reduce reliance on narcotic medication for pain control. It is the ONE therapy we have for chronic abdominal pain that lasts longer than 90 days that does not involve narcotics. This is a game changer in the world of interventional pain management.
