The bike line is an insane idea

I am fully in support of making our streets safer, especially considering the dramatic increase of traffic in our town, over the last several years. As someone who rides their bike, often with my dog and my kids; and considering the quality and quantity of drivers on Prospect St, we don't ride on Prospect. That won't change with the painted bike lanes. I do think increasing visibility of cyclists is helpful however, I don't consider those Possible visibility benefits enough to remove street parking for residents on Prospect. Residents frequently have someone parked out front for one reason or another and to remove that would be a great detriment and a daily inconvenience. As a Prospect resident, I don't see the potential safety benefits outweighing the daily stress it would put on the residents and their guests etc. I'll support the lanes, just not removing the street parking. As someone who rides, I understand the responsibility I have to share the road. As it currently stands, I'm able to maneuver with parked car, traffic, & using hand signals etc. Eliminating street parking is unnecessarily burdensome when cyclist and vehicles have shared responsibility to share the road. Thank you for taking the time to consider my perspective.

I do believe that removing parking from Springfield Avenue to Parker to put in two bike lanes Will add to the problem and you will see more pedestrians hurt you will see more children being hurt and it will disenfranchise people with disabilities. You have the church on the one side of Prospect leave that as parking Make the other side of my plane that is a wonderful compromise.

As a cyclist and homeowner on a very busy intersection I am concerned about a false sense of security as drivers can be reckless and the shoulder /lane is pretty narrow - also then eliminating parking and causing more congestion. Careful cyclists already use Prospect St without issues.

Stop the bike lanes on main streets. They should be on streets with less traffic.

There are so few bikers in this town. This creates headaches for the rest of us. It's tyranny of the minority

I stop on the sides of Prospect for swap pick ups. How will anyone be able to if the sides disappear? Also terribly fast traffic on Prospect. It'll never be a safe place for bike lanes. Never.

Corner houses on Prospect are the most adversely affected due to increased demand for parking on the side streets. Demand for parking on Harvard is currently high. This plan will make it much worse. Noise levels from cars will increase as impatient drivers will increase beeping at those try to make left turns onto the side streets.

Residents need to utilize on street parking as stated in the petition. Since this is a loss to residents will our taxes be lowered. Additionally it decreases real estate values. This is a significant loss to residents.

The parking situation for Tuscan school is already chaotic and dangerous at the corner of Harvard and Prospect. In addition eliminating parking on Prospect St for residents puts the burden of traffic parking onto the side streets which will impact the 4 residences on every corner to have additional cars parked in front of their homes

This is a horrible idea. Any service provider that service's local residents homes will be negatively affected by this and considering a child got hit in a cross walk not that long ago on Prospect this has to be one of the worst ideas this township has had yet.

I think the bike lanes are a bad and dangerous idea. Prospect Street is extremely busy and will be hazardous to cyclists and auto traffic alike. People will get hurt especially during rush hours. This is a safety issue over convenience issue. Please use common sense.

A number of elderly people and families with children utilize the services and space at the Ethical Culture Building. Bike lanes are already in place on Parker which would force patrons to find parking at a great distance from the building and/or make them cross in the middle of the street which would be very unsafe.

Appreciate the efforts here - this is not a thoroughly vetted proposal for the residents of Prospect.
