Dr. Mohomodou Boncana was a beacon of light, guiding students through some dark places of academic pursuits. His contagious enthusiasm reinforced with, “Excellent, excellent!” pushed me to understand various methodologies and supported my desire for continuous improvement in academia and life. Dr. Boncana died empty, giving his all to his students and UVI sacrificing his health and family time. Therefore, I concur with all petitioners that Dr. Mohomodou Boncana earned and deserves his tenure awarded posthumously.

Dr. Boncana gave all of himself to UVI. His tenureship is long overdue, even if it is posthumously.

Dr. Boncana was the most available, focused, disciplined professor I have ever had. He assisted me with my dissertation and I will continue to write because of his encouragement.

Dr Boncana was a great man who exemplified “The Characteristics of the Good Warrior”, giving his all to teaching and to his students. I know he spent his last days striving to complete his Tenured Professor process yet striving to help his students complete their PhDs. If ever a posthumous tenureship was deserved, that for Dr Mohomodou Boncana was, and I trust that it will be speedily granted.

If one was to ask me to find a word to describe my friend “humble” would be the first word. However, one word will never be enough. Dr. B, my brother, mentor and friend taught me what life is worth by putting others before himself, enduring even in exceptional and difficult situations, being ethical, steadfast in faith, intelligent and witty, very very curious, and in his passion for learning. But what I know too about him was that he had an undying love for his family and his village. That is what successful living is about, and I learned that from one of a kind professor, friend, mentor and brother. I hope your one dream of gaining tenure be something that comes true even if it is just for your wife and children sakes.
