The following members of Almaden Country Club demand that the pool project be put to a re-vote. The main reasons for this are that the budget for the project has doubled from the original voted on plan as well as the financing is significantly different as promised. We request a special meeting of the membership to discuss the situation.
Another thing to realize, once this project is started, no other project will get done without an assessment because we will have borrowed as much as we can. So the rest of the pool, bocce, practice area, etc cannot be done without an assessment. Nor can the practice area or irrigation system done without an assessment.
Let's make sure the money is spent on what the members want. Please pass this link on to others who might not have seen it.

I really thought this might just fizzle out in the locker room but the energy around this pool vote is actually starting to feel real now. It is wild how many people felt the same frustration about the budget creep and the lack of clarity on that irrigation system stuff so now we really have to make sure they listen to us.

Use available capital on more important projects: driving range; improved greens; replace aging irrigation.

Totally agree. With the rapid rise in dues we need to make sure we get On the right track before doing something else extensive.
I was an avid lane swimmer, but find that there is little time allocated for adult lane swimming. I am more interested in late afternoon or evening swimming. I am not on board with the pool renovation plans. However, at this time I have to join another gym in order to do this kind of swimming. My husband who is the proprietary member is an avid golfer, but I am not. The club has a nice outdoor pool, but I don't know if there is anytime allocated for adults in the hours I can use. Otherwise, pool is of no use to me.
Doubling of costs? Puts dent into budget and like to see how that makes sense. Still might but like to see.
We should be advised of updated costs and how it will impact members

I find this new proposal to pale as ompared to the original proposition. I am totally at odds and vote not to go forward with the pool project.
