LNG Floating Storage Unit is to be placed out of this already small and very busy transhipment port. This port houses 3 major fuel depots, a large fishery fleet, (in future) the only power house on the island and, most importantly the residents of Birzebbuga and Marsaxlokk and operators working in this already industrialised zone.

Generating electricity by gas is a good idea, but having a gas/lng storage this close to residential units is a ticking bomb.

This is much too risky. Human lives and safety must come first. Proper studies have not been carried out and yet it seems that a decision has already been taken.
