When he arrived at the value he coud not believe it. He again checked and re-checked y physics various times and he always arrived at the following: The 140,00 M3 LNG storage vessel will contain an explosive amount of gas equivalent to: 52 HIROSHIMA BOMBS. These are the workings: Energy in LNG Vessel: Volume: 140,000 M3 Specific gravity of LNG : 0.422 Total mass in Kg: 59,080,000 Kg Calorific value of methane: 13,271 Kcalories/Kg Total Thermal Energy in the LNG storage Vessel=784,050,680,000 kcal (value 1) Energy in Hiroshima bomb: Total energy equivalent of Hiroshima bomb quivalent to 15 Kilotons of TNT=15,000,000 kg of TNT = 15,000,000,000 kCalories (Value 2) Now divide value 1 by value 2 and you get 52 Hiroshima bombs equivalent in thermal energy. Now who would want 52 Hiroshima bombs stored 2 kilometers away from his home? We do not want 52 Hiroshima bombs anywhere in Malta or Gozo.

well done Roberta. gas storage tankers should not be allowed in M'Xlokk and this for various reasons.

The PM should listen to what the experts have said and not just barge on. Or is he afraid that he might have to keep his promise if the project is not ready in 2 years, he will resign!

It is a big irresponsability to do floating Natural gas near residents and power station. The reasone behind this is to make the progect more cheaper and to be in time since the Prime Minister commit himself to be ready within 2 years.

I fully agree with your petition. I think health and safety should overcome any time frames, whatever the benefits .
