Updates

February 20, 2017

I have officially filed the documentation required to initiate the traffic study with the city transportation department. We are now waiting for their office to schedule an initial site assessment of our streets.

February 20, 2017

The scale of this support has secured us a formal meeting with the city department of transportation. We are currently finalizing the documentation of neighborhood traffic patterns to present during that session.

please keep in mind speed bumps do not work that well with drivers essentially racing between them. They are also loud with the cars hitting them and then immediately accelerating. There are other measures which are more effective. If we ask for speed bumps, they will be the least expensive route for the city to take. Bump outs, narrowing of the streets or making them one way may be preferable options. The bump outs could be nice if we plant trees and shrubs in them.

It would be nice to see police presence (or video surveillance cameras installed) and speed bumps put in. (My car is broken into on the regular also.) I just paid a lot of money for this new piece of property and I would hate to see it's value decrease as this situation worsens. I've called the police a few times about drug activity and given license plates; I never see a patrol car respond fast enough to catch them and the same cars re-appear.

The crime is ridiculous. My car has been broken into 5 times in the past 4 months.

Perhaps narrowing the streets or using bump-outs rather than speed bumps could be considered as a traffic calming measure. Drivers respond naturally to narrower streets by driving more carefully, and more generous sidewalks would be an added benefit.

Liberty hill, milton and boal streets are in desperate need of speed bumps. I have very nearly been injured or even possiibly killed three times while exiting a vehicle when a car race downhill.

There are many families with young children in our neighborhood. We have 2 young boys that often play on Milton Street. Cars speed down our street very often. There is also entirely too much drug activity, theft of packages, car break-ins, on a very regular basis. It seems crime is increasing.

Due to the recent construction and building additions the traffic conditions are unsafe. Speed in an issue and parking is a nightmare we would like to see you conduct a about traffic study to determine the best options for improving the current conditions. Thank you for your time and attention to this seriously concerning condition.
