Although I am a Senior this year I still want to sign this because I do believe that this should be a option. I look forward to sending my children her and strongly believe that Marching band, Show choir, Sports and Teams should count as gym credits.

During gym I sweat, i try my hardest and give my all, all the time for the semester is devoted to these activities. During one or the other I have cried many times. So thats why this matters so very much to me.

I was in lifting this last simester and it could not compare to the work done within the marching band season. Working outside in the heat during the summer for around 8 hours. Now thats hard work.

I have taken Lifetime Fitness Activities as my PE credit for both my sophomore and junior years along with marching band earlier in the school year. Students can easily pass and/or excel in Lifetime without much physical exercise at all and that class is considered eligible for PE credit. With marching band, the combination of Band Camp in the summer, Monday-night and Friday-morning practice, and competitions/invitationals gives the students involved equal to more exercise than Lifetime. It is a combination of music and physical exercise which works many muscle groups and involves teamwork and stamina-building. It only makes sense that that amount of work should be given credit for PE

We are already taking this class which takes so much out of us but then we have to turn around and fill another spot in our schedule with a gym class that isnt completely necessary, it just doesnt make sense. Gym should still be an option for those interested but it shouldnt be a mandatory class that we must take. All it does is just take away from time that we could spend doing more productive things

This should happen because there are some classes that are physically requiring but also teaches the subject at hand.

Ive done Wrestling (for 6 years), Football, Baseball, and many other sports. Show choir is way more work than half of the sports I've done. and Lifetime and Lifting are a joke compared to 1 run through of our show let alone a choreography camp or a competition. This needs to count as a gym credit.

As someone who has been in both lifetime and show choir, a single performance in Ambassadors is more physically strenuous than a week of lifetime.

During Marching Band we stand in the heat for hours at a time. This is not easy, try standing still with a 50lbs. instrument, it's not easy. Others may say that it's just the tuba that is so heavy and challenging but that's not true when you stand still for even 15 minutes with a 15lbs or 10lbs instrument it's not easy your arms get tired. When you think about a normal gym class you have the people that just stand around and the people who try, in band and show choir everyone has to participate. Theses activities don't just improve our physical condition it also helps our teamwork and communication skills.

I believe that these activities should be counted as a PE class because they are electives for school, not just an after school activity, The surrounding schools all count show choir and marching band as a gym class, why must we be the difficult ones who never follow the grain.

I strongly agree with this proposal. Many students taking rigorous academic schedules as well as participating in additional physical activity after school could benefit from being able to use their elected physical activity as credit towards a gym class.

Show Choir is so much work we deserve PE credit because I hate doing actual workouts.

If we earn our credits with things like show choir, marching band and other things like that we can use the gym periods for other classes that can contribute to our future.

I think it is a great thing that several schools do because for the people who have a harder time with constant workout with these activities and then have to do more in P.E class it takes a great deal out of you.

I like strentgh and conditioning, but if show choir would've counted, I would've dropped it for classes I actually want to use for my career after High school
