Not only does this rule change limit the development of junior shooters, but disadvantages all junior and senior shooters competing in the senior match - weather conditions, range officers, how well the range technology operates etc. can change and impact the performance of the shooters, especially in the instance of when the juniors shoot on a different day to the women.

Some competition protocol and etiquette can only be learnt on a range, what better forum for this than side by side in their chosen sport with some of its iconic men and women right in the booth next door.
My job would be incomplete if not to inspire this into our protege's, let the rules allow this to flourish.

Being able to compete in both junior and senior matches not only allows the junior more experience but gives them the opportunity to see what it will be like when they are no longer a junior. It also encourages new junior shooters and promotes longevity in the sport.

This rule will negatively impact the long term future of our sport. At times when PA's junior talent pool has been a little shallow it has been the ability for juniors to compete with seniors as well as their colleagues that has provided them with the experience they need to be successful at international levels. This rule prioritises the ease of squadding over the long term future of our sport and needs to be rescinded.

Are all the Senior shooters on the board afraid of being beaten by a junior so they want to change the rule so that this cant happen

We should encourage Juniors not place silly rule on them, they are the future of our sport. What harm is there to let them shoot twice?

Can anyone tell me any competition where you compete once and your result is eligible for two separate competitions?

The kids should be able to shoot against the adults in the 'matches that count' at the highest level. Some of them beat the adults regularly and what better way to encourage them? Go kids shoot all you want

so now we want the kids to shoot only 1 match in 1 day at a national competition, but when they come of age they will shoot a 3 or 5 match open over a 2 day weekend, nothing wrong that I can see about the kids getting range time to shoot the second match again in the same day with the "big kids" all good experience, sometimes they travel a long way just to compete at nationals to sit behind the line and "watch" a match they could be shooting in, why not give them the choice of having the first match count for points in both? 2015 nationals women's sports was squadded same day as junior women's air, potentially 3 match's in one day with very little time between, no wonder some kids gave up shooting the second sports match to not rush in and shoot air, this was a squadding problem, not a problem that's solved by shooting one less time, this case would have been a disaster if the junior had been shooting the women's match for the state team and its squadded the same way? (potentially could happen 2016!) was there any discussion b4 this decision was made ??
