Started by Concerned Property Owners 9 years, 2 months ago

We, as owners of property along the inactive rail right of way, have concerns as to the impact that reactivation will have on our community, our property values and our day to day life.

We are concerned about the proximity of a train operating near our homes and in particular near those properties within 30 feet of the right of way.

We are concerned about air quality due to diesel emissions, noise pollution from the passing of the train and the safety of our residents as well as any non residents who might be on or near the tracks.

We are concerned about maintaining the right of ways to the waterfront area and our properties..

We are concerned about the cost benefit of disruption to many home owners, and to all taxpayers, for the good of only one company.

Updates

August 30, 2017

The feedback gathered from our community underscores how significantly this project threatens our property values and local quality of life. We are currently organizing our concerns into a formal report to present to the planning board. Your participation continues to provide the necessary leverage to challenge these developments.

The growth of this petition demonstrates a clear consensus regarding the risks posed by reactivating the rail line. We have reached a significant point where our collective concern can no longer be ignored by those in positions of authority.

I am in opposition to the proposed rail because as a resident of Mount Hope Condominiums, we have been given very little information regarding future plans. We should be kept fully informed.

I am greatly concerned how the train vibrations will impact the stability of the waterfront condos__ I also object to tax dollars being used for the benefit of Gold Medal__ this railroad will negatively affect far too many people

Lets put the funds to better use, starting with the deplorable conditions of our city streets.

I oppose the granting of this right of way and the use of our tax dollars to benefit one single company.
