This is a dangerous place for a fog park.

I am against this as a 30 year former resident of Syosset I am intimately familiar with where this is. Terrehans is used as a cut through during rush hour as a way to get around the heavy traffic on the LIE, fast moving cars and many of them. Dog feces are very bad for the grass, worse yet for those who want to use this as play space. There is an animal shelter nearby on Town owned property, that is a great location. Those who walk their dogs may chose to walk the dogs at that facility, maybe a few more get adopted? A short time ago the town tried to illegally sell the space that was meant to be forever green, why would they not just leave it alone. For over 60 years there was no such need, why now. Curbside parking only, numerous dogs in and out of cars on so busy of a highway is a recipe for disaster. If the % of local opposing it is right, how can this even be considered?

Undeveloped green space is vital to maintaining the diminishing character of the community, and benefits our air, ground water and environment in general.

This is a quiet residential area. They do not need a dog park. There is no parking there. Who will be maintaining this area all day? I say put it in a commercial area, away from traffic and homes. I drive past this area all the time and would never picture it as a dog park. Maybe some benches. That’s it.

Syosset is dangerously overdeveloped

Too busy of a road. Not enough space for parking and too big a risk if a dog runs out... they will get hit by a car. Dog parks within state parks are safer.

I’m against the dog park project in my neighborhood.

Introducing a dog park in an area that is entirely residential, bordering the LIE service road, with no provided parking or guarantees for safety is irresponsible. It is overwhelmingly opposed by residents in the area and should be regarded as risky and poor in choice.

There is justification in finding another area for a proposed dog park. I hope this option will be explored rather than using the land on Terrehans lane.

A dog park does not belong in a residential community creating noise nuisance and safety hazards for children and will increase traffic on roads that can’t handle it.

It’s a horrible idea to put a dog run/park in a residential area with so many children. If a dog gets loose there could be a tragedy... I’m taking from my own tragic experience that lead to many surgeries.

The immediate neighborhood is not against dog owners or their pets. A park of this nature should be in a COMMERICIALLY ZONED PROPERTY rather than a RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. The community is OVERWHELMING against this proposal and it has been brought forth by residents who do not live in this community.
