Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's online multuplayer occupied over 40 days of my life in 2007 / 2008. New Call of Duties have come out since - some good, some not-so-good - but in my opinion none have ever reached the level of CoD 4. Having gone back on there late last night and found over 5,000 people still playing it seven years on, and over 15,000 this morning, I don't think I'm alone in wanting a current version of one of the best multiplayer games ever released.

If enough people sign this petition, I will be send it on to Activision Publishing Inc with a business case to try to demonstrate that it would be commercially viable to bring CoD 4 up to date for the new generation consoles. Ideally I'm talking same maps, same weapons, same perks, back to just the three kill-streak rewards, same challenges; but graphics and character movement brought up to date. If we can prove that people all over the world would be willing to pay retail price to buy what is essentially a re-vamped version of a classic for the chance to re-live the golden days of CoD.

Numbers talk, and if we can get enough people to show they are interested then hopefully we can get Activision to at least consider this.

If it were just a multiplayer offering (i.e. no first player campaign) then we could also ask for the most popular maps from subsequent COD's to be added if that's what people want.
