(NHS) National Healthcare System

An online marketplace created and run by the US Government for all healthcare related products and services that can be purchased by individuals with funds from their Health Savings Account (HSA).

Funds can be deposited into any number of HSAs by any individual or organization and the depositor will receive a tax deduction for the amount deposited. Once deposited however, the funds can only be used within the NHS and never withdrawn. Government subsidies may also be placed in the account and possibly the Medicare deduction with employee match.

Employers can make deposits for employees, parents for children, charities for the needy, friend to friend, etc.

This method of funding will eventually replace the need for government assistance for healthcare.

The NHS is a highly competitive environment with real price transparency.

The use of new technologies like online retailing, appointment scheduling, video conferencing, social networking, video libraries, secure payment processing, prescription management, electronic forms, and artificial intelligence will provide world class tools for diagnosis, treatments, doctor-patient communications, fraud detection and monitoring, disease statistics, and system security.

Insurance companies can offer policies (available nationwide) that cover any grouping of products and services they wish to market with the coverage amount. Policy is paid with HSA funds and payouts are deposited directly to the policyholder's HSA.

Insurance, Medicare, Metacaid

The government system for determining coverage for Medicare and Medicaid will be used by all insurance providers. (See http://cms.gov).

When suppliers of healthcare related products and services are approved for the NHS, each product or service to be listed in the marketplace will receive a unique code. The government can use this code to add it to Medicare or Medicaid coverage and private insurance companies can use it to add to their policies.

Each insurance policy offering, public or private, will have a unique ID assigned to it. When an individual purchases a policy, the unique ID(s) are added to the individuals account.

The user will have the ability to turn a “filter” on when doing searches that will only show results that are covered by policies in effect at the time of the search. The amount covered will be displayed in the far left column which may be more or less than the actual cost of the service. If your purchase costs less than the covered amount your Individual account balance will increase by the difference.

Advertising can be sold on the site and raise an estimated $20 Billion per year (estimate for Amazon) which can be used to fund ongoing operations, enhancements, and maintenance to the system. This should enable the NHS to become self funding after initial startup.
