Sunflower Farmers Markets 2585 Central Avenue, Suite 200 Boulder, CO 80301 To Whom It May Concern: We, the residents of Denver's Northeast neighborhoods, have watched the expansion of Sunflower Farmers Markets in Denver and the surrounding area with much interest. We applaud the company on its efforts to expand access to quality, affordable food and groceries. With this letter, we respectfully ask the company to consider the Cole Neighborhood/Northeast Denver as an area for potential expansion of the Sunflower Farmers Markets business model. Only minutes and less than two miles from central downtown Denver's Cole Neighborhood is in the process of revitalization and growth. The neighborhood, as you'll see on the attached map, is bounded by 40th Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (32nd Ave.) to the north and south, and Downing Street and York Street to the east and west. We are fortunate to be centrally located in Denver and surrounded by a few of Denver's other historic neighborhoods in addition to our own. Even considering all of these benefits, there is still one essential piece missing. At this time, unfortunately, we do not have a local grocery store that can support areas needs for quality produce, meats, and other groceries. It is our hope that Sunflower Farmers Markets will consider the potential business and financial advantages in filling that need. Although we know that there is much more research and planning involved in determining business expansion, we wanted to provide some preliminary information for your review. To that end, enclosed you will find additional background on our community, demographics, landmarks, commercial space, etc. If and when it is convenient for you, we would enjoy the opportunity to meet to discuss how Cole/Northeast Denver could fit into the Sunflower Farmers Markets family of grocery stores. We will be sure to follow up on this letter as appropriate. Thank you for your time and consideration, and we hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, The residents of Cole, Whittier, Curtis Park, Five Points, San Rafael and Skyland/Clayton
