NCARB ARE Exam Changes

While having to draw and note take with a mouse is challenging for anyone, it puts those who are left-handed at an even greater disadvantage.

I understand the purpose in trying to keep the online and in-person experience the same but for me, we need scratch paper to sketch, organize thoughts, etc. when working through questions, especially the case studies. I would rather have scratch paper than an online option personally. This along with the other changes (like having previously viewed items locked when a break is taken) is going to negatively affect the testing experience).

This is a TERRIBLE idea.

Please keep the option of scratch paper on the in-person exams

This is absolutely CRAZY!!! NCARB is obviously not helping us, what NCARB is doing is making things a lot more challenging and difficult for us. This is not FAIR!!!.

I think a scrap of paper is quite literally the LEAST you could provide a test taker with.

It is absolutely ridiculous to take away the ability to WRITE on an exam to be licensed for such a tactile profession. If you were going to have a stylus with a touch screen, it would be a deifferent situation... Have the option for scratch paper at testing centers and none when at home. So we can make an informed decision about which one we'd rather have.

This is my coworkers last exam and she has been able to use this in the past and do not want this to affect her performance

Suck my dick NCARB! This is the most selfish thing I have ever seen you do. Those exams are already bad enough now you want to take away the one thing you weren't making money from? Who made this decision? Someone who had paper to take their exam? Yeah, thought so

Physical scratch paper is paramount on SO MANY problems we face on the exam and in practice. Taking this away is one step closer to taking away the profession.

Please allow scratch paper on exam. It is a mistake to change this process has no benefit to exam taker.

WTF. There is literally NO ONE I know among my circles of architect colleagues and friends, who thinks it's a good idea to replace physical scratch paper with mouse and keyboard digital whiteboard on the exams. This is hands down an awful decision, and it really shouldn't require an explanation why. Reverse this decision now.

I would likely not even use the digital white board due to technical glitches and slow down. Therefore, this isn't a 1-to-1 substitution, it's a complete erasure of being about to think through exams answers.

Sitting for these exams is hard enough as is, trying to navigate the old vignettes during these exams was difficult and one can expect utilizing the white board will be just as annoying. Please don't take away scratch paper and pencil.
