The council confirmed today that they have officially abandoned the plan to relocate the recycling depot near the school. It is a relief to know our community spaces will remain free of these specific sanitation risks. I appreciate the time you took to help protect our environment and local children.

Dear Chatham Borough Council,
As a resident who is in close proximity to the Mulch Area, I am not in favor of the Borough Council's plans to relocate the Recycling Depot from it's current location on Summit Avenue to the Mulch Area behind the Milton Avenue School. Dirty cans, bottles and food containers will attract unwanted animals (i.e. rats, mice, raccoons and Black Bears) to an area close to a school, playground and recreational fields.

Bad idea. The smell and the pests will be a nightmare for the neighborhood.
Are you kidding me? Right behind the school?! We have enough trouble with bears in this town without putting garbage right in their backyard. Keep it where it is.
Bad planning.
Total insanity. My kids play on those fields every weekend. Do not bring rats and bears closer to our school.
Summit Ave is fine. Why fix what isnt broken and put a bunch of junk next to a playground??
