Petition to Repeal the New Cul-De-Sac & Alleyway Policy in Market Square

The rushed decision to disallow the use of the cul-de-sac & alleyways for bike riding was made before thinking of all residents. This community was built and sold for growing families, which include children, and they need a safe place to ride bikes. The tot lot is geared for children 3-5 years of age, and not a safe environment for bike riding due to steep hills and close proximity of a large traffic circle.
Due to other concerns, the cul-de-sac is now video monitored by 2 cameras, which will allow for children and adults to be held responsible for any damages that occur. Since this new policy, parents are now aware of concerns of other residents that were not communicated and can be more aware and vigilant with children that are out there playing.

The Children at Play sign is much more appropriate to post in our community because it is directed at motorists rather than the kids and parents themselves. The currently posted signs are very abrasive and limit residents with small children from enjoying their neighborhood. They look horrible.
I prefer Slow Children at Play.
Slow children at play. We live in a family oriented community lets keep it that way. Let our children and be safe!
SLOW - Children at play is far better than the sign on the left. Children should be allowed to safely play within their neighborhood.
The decision to prohibit bike riding and other "normal" community activites shocked and disturbed me. Please reconsider. It is not indicative of the type community I want to live in. Nancy Sesler
Children at play sign is appropriate. The current sign belongs at a strip mall which is where most people actually see them.

I prefer the sign that allows my children to be children and play in our neighborhood like normal kids. They are not breaking the law. People speeding in the neighborhood are the ones breaking the laws so display the signs that addresses the lawbreakers.
