The marathon is the pinnacle of distance running and is also an Olympic and World championship event. Whilst the SEA games should showcase locally favoured sports, more importantly they should be a breeding ground for Athletes to progress to regional and world/Olympic competition. Don't take this opportunity away from the elite marathon runners in SEA
