Support Mālama Honua Public Charter School relocation to the Waimanalo Agricultural and Research Station

Action should be taken to move Malama Honua School to CTAHR. The charter school's expansion of our students wanting this type of education dictates the need to support the move to a larger venue.

So happy to be a part of a school that supports students in learning about how to Mālama Honua!! It is so important that our kula has space to grow so we can continue to support our haumana, so they can in turn positively impact our community!

I grew up in the lush foothills of Waimānalo and spent many days and all summers playing, exploring and learning on that magnificent ʻāina. What a wonderful Idea and fantastic opportunity for the keiki to have this ag land for their school and as their classrooms! I wholeheartedly support this.

This would be a perfect opportunity for UH to work with the community & teach these students knowledge and skills that would allow them to pursue a higher education.

We love Malama Honua!!!!

The students and teachers of MHPCS have proven that they contribute to our community, they show respect to the land they occupy, and share learning with those around them. I support this move so MHPCS can expand it's reach--both in number of students, but especially in becoming stewards of this land.

The support of our community especially the keiki is vital. I hope to one day send my child to learn there also. If DHHL/DLNR can give acres of land to 1 person in Waimanalo to turn into a dump yard why can we not use the land for positive growth????!

For the past 4years I have had the wonderful opportunity to work at this startup charter school, Malama Honua Public Charter School. The school has not only allowed me to teach the next generation but has also allowed me to learn more about how to take care of the world during these fragile times. The school is rapidly growing and we would like to continue to grow. However the limiting factor is space. We have worked closely with the Waimānalo ag station from day 1 of the school and are now looking to the potential of relocating there in hopes to develop a unique educational experience from preK-college.

Our kaikamahine (daughter), is a haumana (student) of Malama Honua PCS. Our children are 4th generation Waimanalo Keiki. Our hearts and lives are truly vested in this Wahi Pana. We humbly ask your support in allowing our future generation the opprtunity to build knowledge, skills, and values, by connecting Hawaiian culture and history, agricultural traditions and opportunities with the tools and technology of today. There's no better place or safer space to be than a "school within a school". (Please keep in mind the oportunities provided to other schools in the area: Job Corps, Waimanalo Elementary & Intermediate, Malu 'Olu Ranch, UH AG.). MAHALO!!!

I have been a resident of Waimanalo for all my life and to actually see what Malama Honua has taught these children how to become mindful navigators, respect, take care of our beaches and the Aina and much much more. We ask thee to please allow Malama Honua Public Charter School to continue these learning opportunities. They are our future. Aloha Mai Kakou

This is the only charter school Waimanalo has. It's A school that offers a different approach to learning through place based cultural projects, hands on engagement, and academia. Having them remain in Waimanalo and relocate to something like this is very welcome in our community. These children are being taught the importance of aloha āina from K-5th grade. The school would be perfectly located on this lot in the back roads. Please consider your support for this awesome opportunity for our children of Waimanalo and beyond.
