As lunch is a time of socialization and community, students should have the chance to have time to eat and talk to their friends, without feeling rushed, before their next class. In addition, the loss of 15 minutes gives students who need to eat lunch less time to eat, and as Anthony Brent said, any clubs that meet during lunch are decreased in the time they can meet, allowing for less social time when we already have almost NO opportunities for socialization during the school day.

A longer lunch break for students means a longer lunch break for teachers. This benefits everybody.

Well I heard from some Juniors that they used to have a study period/free period before lunch so lunch was essentially an hour and that sounds pretty cool Also I like pizza

Energy Institute High School, like many other schools, currently offers a 30-minute lunch period, which many students and staff believe is insufficient. Extending the lunch period to 45 minutes would offer numerous benefits for students' physical and mental health, as well as improve the overall school experience. With more time to eat, socialize, and relax, students would be better equipped to focus on their afternoon classes, leading to a healthier and more productive school environment. First and foremost, a longer lunch period would allow students to eat more comfortably. The 30-minute lunch is often rushed, with many students unable to fully enjoy their meal or finish eating before the bell rings. This can lead to poor digestion, as students may feel the need to eat quickly, which could result in stomach discomfort or even stress. A 45-minute lunch would give students the opportunity to eat at a leisurely pace, promoting better digestion and overall health. Moreover, the additional time could encourage students to make healthier food choices, as they would not feel pressured to finish their meal quickly. In addition to improving physical health, a longer lunch would allow students more time to socialize and decompress. High school can be stressful, and lunch is often one of the few moments during the day when students can relax and bond with their peers. With only 30 minutes, students may feel rushed and unable to enjoy meaningful conversations or take a break from academic pressures. A 45-minute lunch would provide the necessary time for students to unwind, fostering stronger social connections and a sense of community within the school. The extra 15 minutes could also improve students’ mental well-being. Studies have shown that taking breaks during the day can significantly reduce stress and improve cognitive function. By extending the lunch period, students would have more time to step away from their academic responsibilities, allowing them to retu

Lunch is out of control. If you aren't provided a lunch from home, or running to the lunch line, you're most likely going to spend at least a third of your lunch actually getting something to eat. Then you have around 10 minutes taken up by eating, then around 10 left to socialize or do anything. But imagine how this is for those who don't like to socialize. The ban outlaws gaming devices, headphones, or earphones, meaning that playing games, listening to music, and scrolling is not an option. Not to mention that most lunchtime clubs have been shut down due to the decreased lunch time, leaving there with nothing to do but talk, and sit around. With all of this in mind, I hope that some change is done.

With 90 min of nonstop class time and five minuites to get to each class AND use the restroom before (most) classes, a longer lunch time allows students to regroup and ground themselves before going back to the nonstop 90 min classes
