I am in favor of the MIA SATELLITE BASE LOA.
I have read and understand the LOA and
This LOA benefits our pilot group in the following ways:
- Allows Local pilots relief from commuting.
- Creates relative seniority opportunities in DFW and ORD.
- Creates a showcase opportunity, (MQ vs RAH operations) to be used as leverage in negotiations.
This LOA has little or no risk because:
- The RELATIVE SIZE clause. A 20% cap, period. The cumulative number of all Satellite-Domiciled Pilots system wide shall not exceed 20% of the total active pilot group. This negates "satellites everywhere" conspiracy.
- The DURATION clause. If it turns sour, we can nuke it.
- The BIDDING clause. No one is forced to bid it.

I am currently consolidating the recent feedback regarding the relative seniority impacts to present to the union leadership. A formal letter outlining the specific benefits of the 20 percent cap is being drafted for upcoming contract committee discussions.

Ex Miami based pilots represent about 20% of your pilot group It is also your responsibility to represent the monitory voice.
We need a Miami base. To many hotels for the company and to much commuting for the pilots
AA MIA pilots are commuting everywhere also. Nothing is going change that. Im doing a DH trip today but since I am in MIA I dont do the commute ord deadhead and still get paid for the trip.
Tired of commuting to DFW,to just deadhead to MIA and cover that flying,it doesnt make any sense, its a waste of resources,and time.
People that commute from SJU need MIA in order to gain back at least a chance at a decent QOL.
Being a former MIA base FO and commuting from SJU I've seen my QOL go from good to almost no QOL. We are flying out of MIA on a daily basis and it seems to me that there is more to this than just what's right for the company. The union need to act in favor of the pilots now! And if this will help only a few it will for sure not affect the Pilot Group in general.

Please do open MIA Satelite. Commuting creates a "constant" amount of stress which over a cumulative period of time can not possibly be healthy, in addition to unnecesary increased fatigue. Also, i wonder if it might benefit the Co in the long run by saving those Htl nights for commuters? Any effort from your part to progress in order to attain the MIA Satelite would be greatly appreciated. Respectfully, FA Mirtha Soyka EE # 329898 DFW Base after displacement
