I agree that pre-teens and teens need positivity in our town. Growing up, moving to small towns is difficult. There are not a lot of activities to get involved in that do not cost an arm and leg. Why not provide a safe place for these younger people to go and hang out, have fun and most importantly EXERCISE! One of the biggest complaints is that the young ones of today have their faces glued to video games and or tv. So let’s help change that into a positive place. We have kids that like to roller blade, use roller skates and skateboards. With Covid running around in groups, most skateparks are open air. So youth won’t have to go to an indoor skate rink. Not to mention those places do not allow skateboarding. So let’s take it for what it is worth and offer a fun, safe environment for these people to gather. NOT ALL YOUTH is trouble, looking for trouble and / or into drugs. Many get looked into that category. Why? Currently they are run off by our local PD. I understand skateboarding in the street can become unsafe practice. Even more of a reason to give them a place to skate. Many have complained they are in private parking lots, like the pool area near the Y in town. No cars are there, not many ppl but yet local residents see them and call PD. I admit “some” younger people get involved in distruction, bad choices. Should the entire group suffer for what a few will do? In our society and in life we all disagree about many things. If we could choose to agree to disagree we could keep things in life a little more peaceful. However, it is also what keeps life interesting and moving forward. Let’s do something positive for the youth. Let’s give them a place to “hang their hats” after school, a place for them to get stress relieved and do something positive. Not every family has money to join football, basketball or baseball. Skating is also not a contact sport. Really no equipment to be wiped down or cleaned due to Covid. We also have a lot of Jacks/Jills of all trades

These kids need a skate park. Close to town. Maybe out at the eagles property . They have extra acreas.

Don't want kids skating in your parking lots, sidewalks, or private property....give them a place to go.

My grandson is a very nice kid not a trouble maker. He just needs a place to skate.

Wonderful place for kids to be safe and get outside exercise. My daughter loves skating!!

Adult supervision for anyone under the age 16!

You need to keep the children out of the streets give them a safe place to play like we had when we were young
